Jenner,
Thanks for the info! I know just enough about mechanical engineering to get me into trouble but the 4.44 rear gear and FI system combo sounds like the best ticket for more oompha (as much as can be reasonably expected) for this engine without causing detrimental effects to the rest of the drive train. I would think that a competent driver should expect to get consistent times just under 5 sec(?) for 0-60. Interesting that your having a hard time staying hooked up at 3k rpm launches! Personally, I cringe at the thought of sidestepping the clutch to launch the car but its nice to know that the power would be there if needed! I will be following your posts with focused fascination. Good luck with finding the formula to stay hooked up.

Everybody in here seems to be afraid of hurting their drivetrain (ok, who isnt?!) =).
But have any of the SCd or turboed S2000s destroyed, or damaged their drivetrain. (I dont count a clutch change).

I still suggest getting a new clutch installed BEFORE the supercharger is installed....BUT my mechanic was able to do my clutch/flywheel install WITHOUT removing the supercharger and only lowering the rear of the engine...Took him about 6 hours and he also did an oil change in there and also had to go out for replacement bolts as some stripped in the process. Cost was $400 plus I provided all of the parts and oil.
He actually said that even without the supercharger his way was much easier than the Honda suggested way of dropping the whole engine. He couldn't figure out why they make the honda techs do that. For reference he is an NSX mechanic at an Acura dealer full time and my personal S2000 mechanic part time

I'm about the do my rear gears in the next little while and I wasn't planning on doing it the exact way the manual said. I'm going to try my mechanic's short cut suggestions to see if this makes the job a bit simpler. I'll post that once I get done.
