Default VTEC cherry popped

The search function seems to be down right now, so forgive me for starting a prolly previously existing topic.

But i just recently surpassed my break-in period, so of course I'm gonna let the car loose a little. Well, I have read about VTEC this and that on this forum, but got to experience it for the first time today.

Now given, it's not like a SUPER boost or anything but defintely a COOL feeling. I was just decided to give it a little more gas than usual in first, then as I've read, at about 6000 rpm, I feel a little jolt and my car decided it wanted to go faster. Man, it was just too cool, hahahaha.

My S2000's VTEC cherry has been popped...thank you for your time.

Prom night for my baby should be about Friday. My best friend from high school will be back in town, and he has no idea I bought it. Friday night, top down, VTECing for the 1st time....life doesn't get any better.

I did a google search and think I understand what's being said.

Apparently, after a sufficient break in period, a man will want to use the car's vtec for the first time or "pop its cherry". The "prom night" reference is to an event where this "popping of the cherry" is both common and appropriate. EMarkDDS will be doing this with his best friend watching. I hope I have this right.

Getting past that 6,000 rpm was a good feeling after break-in.

Shifting at about 5,000 RPM before 600 mile break-in.

These shift points are where most NORMAL cars would be shifted at. I need to make a new video shifting at 9k.

Ain't nothing like getting on the on ramp to a freeway and having VTEC kick in. Have fun and be careful.
