Default wanting an s2k. feedbacks.

Hey guys! I currently have '99 Honda Civic si, and was honestly thinking of leaving the "import" scene. I've been making some money and was looking into buying a new car. Either an IS300 white, or a S2K white/red. They are both around the same price from my knowledge. What I want to do is trade in my civic to get some money for my down payment. I have about a year and half left on payments for my SI. What is the best thing to do? Wait till my payments are over? Will it hurt me? (lose money, etc).
From reading some of the threads Im thinking its pretty tough to get a hold of a white/red s2k, or just a s2k in general. Im planning to co-sign w/ my pops since he has good credit, and since the civic is under his name too. I currently pay about $215 a month w/ a 9k downpayment on it. What do you guys think my payments will be if i traded my si in and use that as downpayment, plus me co-signing w/ my dad? And how low do you think I can get the salesperson to go for the s2k. Possibly looking for a '02 s2k. I want my baby brand new! Feedbacks are strongly encouraged. Thanks guys!

I think that this question is for me, as 3 months ago, I traded in my 00 civic si with about 1 year of payments to go, for my s2k. I think our reasons were similar, and I found it quite possible after crunching the numbers. Basically, if you can get blue book for your si (by this I mean Kelly blue book trade in value), then you can get your payments quite low, in fact, get the blue book price for you si, and you might be able to get your payments under 300 a month. It might not really matter who you have signing for you if your credit is ok, because you probably aren't going to get much better than something like 5-7% APR on an S2k from Honda. You might not want to rush the trade-in process, since you can almost always get more for your car if you sell it privately. Did you rice out your car, or is it still stock? Modded cars don't trade in as well.....
Good luck!
Feel free to PM me about this. Trust me, I just did this.....its very "do-able"

dont know anything about payment issues, but a white one is extremely difficult to get. it may take several months before you can get one, so start early, order now! you can always cancel the order if you decided to get something else.
