I'm glad I found this thread... I'm a new 05 owner that is coming over from the Jeep community. The Jeep wave has always been very popular and something I always thought was neat. I haven't seen many S2000's while driving yet but will definitely be waving/headlight flashing.

I'm in that 30+ (well, actually 40+ now) age bracket...

I went to Chipotle and noticed that someone a few tables away had the same burrito as me. I waved, but he gave me a dirty look. What a jerk! You think he would have been pleased or impressed to see that someone else was enjoying the very same burrito!

Some types of cars have a friendly enthusiast culture around them. I have not found the s2000 to be true of this in my short time of owning one.

I came from the bmw community which for the most part is pretty responsive to fellow enthusiasts and such. It's kind of like the jeep thing.....most people just get it and wave

granted there's only like 3 s2000s in my town including me , but still.

oh well....it really doesn't concern me at all. wave to me or not....i am not losing sleep over it either way.

Excellent point. I remember when I had my bimmer in early 80's, we flashed and waved. I wave and I get response back most of the times. It doesn't matter to me whether they wave back at me or not. At least they know that there are friendly S2K owners out there.

Generally I see i much older white guys driving ap2's and they certainly dont wave back. The only people who wave at me are younger guys and girls who are probably <30 yrs old.
Exactly! Of course, there are ALWAYS exceptions to anything, but this is generally the way it goes. At least here in Atlanta, it is. The AP1 owners are younger types that are more into the s2k scene, and the older AP2 owners don't even notice that you're there. I think some people just buy it because it's cool looking or something.

Getting the wave or flash back is a great feeling though. My girlfriend thought I was dumb for waving at people at first, because the first few that I saw after I got my car didn't wave. As soon as we ran across some that did wave, she now thinks it's fun and that I'm hot shit for having the car.

This is typical of many s2k drivers, they get into shallow issues like, "the Corvette driver waved at me", etc. Enough already. Talk about inferiority complexes. Grow the frick up.

Wow! I totally disagree! I always wave at another S2K, and the other drivers always wave back. 'Course, they generally wave back using only one finger.... (Just kidding.....S2K folks around here are pretty rare, and usually friendly.
