This may sound strange, but congratulations. To read the title of the thread and then to find out you are ok and the damage was less than three hundred, well that's great.

I live in an area where deer, or as I call them Forest Rodents, are out of control, the over population is a real problem. Just this sping I hit another one, thank goodness in the Titan and not in the S, but still it was over $4,500 worth of damage.

I hit a raccoon in South Carolina that was bigger than the hood was high in my '72 240Z back in '73. I had a "Spook" installed and it ripped it right off the car. The raccoon just walked away.

Sorry about the damage but not sorry about the Yote. I'd rather kill a coyote than a rattlesnake. They're a real problem around my little farming area. They've been killing dogs and so far they haven't gotten mine and I hope to get them first.

A couple of weeks ago I was driving my big diesel pickup with a heavy load in it and a big dog slammed into the side of it hard enough to rock the truck. Yeap, he hit me, I didn't hit him. He picked himself up and kept on running.

i'm always worried about hitting a coyote as i live out in an area of town that has a lot of undeveloped mesa around it. i see the yotes from my house all the time. i try not to take the back roads because i don't want to hit anything, including bunnies and field mice.. i would feel bad.

about the avoiding part. Seen too many people trying to avoid hitting something and chrashing into something much worse. Doesnt sound like the damage is too bad though.
Lol you haven't seen the size of some of the raccoons around here then! And the deer! We have had over 175 deer hit around us in this last year....
Personally I don't want to hit anything and the best way to avoid that is to keep your eyes on the road ahead of you, not on the road directly in front of you. Now if it runs out at the last second then hit it! Stay in your lane, slam on the brakes but hit it. No critter is worth dying over.
