I may have one of each in the near future but will love them equally!

Well there is one solution...

If I drove it as a daily driver I may have bought an Ap2, but my other car is a Subaru Outback and I couldn't imagine living with any S2000 as my only car.... Not with a big dog and a house to do DYI projects....

I don't know how you guys do it as a DD.....
Both will be my weekend cars, would never have an S2000 as a DD.

I have too much respect for the car.

Piston speeds. Engineering accomplishments. I see now. On these topics we agree completely with you.

But most here are talking about results they can feel when they drive, not historic accomplishments.

Historic engineering feats the F20 wins hands down.

As the best motor for the car in question, best matters more with how, and for what, you will use the car for, and which of their respective attributes you value most. If for you that means F20, that is awesome. We're happy for you, happy to have you in the family. If that is F22 for others, we'd ask you politely not to disparage them for their choice.

If some misguided F22 zealots started it by name calling on your F20 choice, we apologize, and equally condemn their conduct.

Fair enough.. But for the record I never disparaged anyone's choices. And how could I knock the F22c? It is the SAME engine with some minor modifications. Honda didn't reinvent anything with it....

But my perspective about history, accomplishments, engineering feats that were accomplished with the F20c isn't an indictment on the F22c. You don't paint over the Sistine Chapel...

All in all, this thread was a superb discussion about nothing at all. Glad to be a part of it :-)

While you're throwing numbers around, consider that the AP2 is halfway toward 2.4L and 7,000 RPM, which I believe is the specs of typical Honda vehicle with a base 4 cylinder.

Watered down is not necessarily a negative term. It just means in this context it's made more appealing to the masses - the number of people who desire more torque and comfort is more than that of those who desired the AP1.

While I do agree with you, here's the context:

Interpret it how you will.

THAT is what you find offensive???? Such a benign tongue in cheek comment.... Really???? You are that sensitive..?

It is not a knock... It is common knowledge that the F20c is more frenetic. And when people who know the car ask which one I have, they'll ask "the one with the crazy redline?"..

As I said not an indictment.... it is just how it is....

I think you AP2 guys are insecure about the "2 inches less" you guys are sporting on the Tachometer....
