I agree, the AP2V1 rims are the best looking factory rims for the S2000. I'm still using the original AP1 rims (I think these also look great!), but I'd like to upgrade to the AP2V1 rims someday...

AP2V2's are a giant pain to get the brake dust out of the little grooves on front of the wheels, drove me nuts. I'm on CR's now and brake dust isn't a factor anymore. Had the AP2V3's before them, loved how easy they were to clean and I also like the look better.

CR's look better depending on the car's color IMO:

1. Wow, the F22 has way better in-gear acceleration. Car feels like it can pass in sixth on the highway. Did not expect this.
As a fellow F22 owner, I always smile to myself when people say the s2000 has no torque.
Well, a lot of people state that the e9x M3s have "no torque". That's a car with 295 ftlb vs. the F22's 162. On top of that, BMW not only was very conservative on rating their cars (as always), but there was a significant bump in HP/torque with some changes to the ECU in the mid 2010 year-at least according to those who have hit the dynos.

Some people don't think that a car has "any" torque until it is in the 500 plus range. They don't seem to realize that there is a thing known as a transmission that actually allows the driver to change gears while driving.

that mention of a car having no torque is usually either bad gearing, or having no low end torque. I say this because I still find my S troublesome to drive sometimes because the lack of low end torque. I had a c6 corvette before it, and my daily is a e92 335i(both manual trans cars). The S is definitely more fun once its moving.. stop and go gets old really fast in it.

I find my S2000 very fun to drive, but it lacks torque compared to my other nice weather car. As mentioned above, it's fun when it's moving.

My 7,000 lbs truck also out accelerates my S2000, but it's not fun to drive.

I never had any issues in stop and go traffic in my stock 04 or 08. But now that my 08 is supercharged there's definitely no complaints lol. Also since most of the time I'm out and driving the car is already moving so dropping several gears and speeding up from a roll is a breeze and leaves a smile on my face and usually shock on the face of others.

BTW...I agree about those CR rims... Best of looks and easiest to maintain :-)

How much do you miss 9k?
Honestly, the F22C is so torquey I don't miss the 9K much. 2006 was the first year for the airbag switch. There are tons of little detail changes from 2006 onward.

It almost sounds as if the differences between the AP1 and Ap2 you owned were as if you were comparing a Luxury Sedan to a sub compact.... I mean... I get the tweaks that Honda made over the years added to comfort and stability etc, but they were just that "tweaks". They are far more alike than different..
...Not to mention that most of the world kept the F20c engine throughout the years.

Have you driven an AP2? I was surprised at the number of detail changes. Car drives very differently- Honda continually tweaked spring/damper settings throughout the run, and the steering rack is slower. The biggest difference by far is top gear acceleration, which in the new car I don't feel like I'm about to get run over if I don't downshift. Granted, shifting the gearbox is no chore, but I find the AP2 to be much more liveable, if less manic. F22C was JDM from 2006 onward. EUDM kept a DBW F20C. I know.

Also, the audience of this thread is S2000 fanatics, who know that they are mostly the same car, and I just thought I had an interesting perspective to share, having swapped one car for the other.
