^I printed that from another thread. I just received my VAFC this week and was going to install it this weekend, but I just found out I wasted my money and now I am going to go cry.

That Kayvan Pour is a funny guy. Why you mad? Can't you make a point without acting like a child? No I'm not a member. Yes, I've been reading this site for over a year. Why you mad?!
No, I've never heard that a VFAC has the same gains on our S2000 that it did in my old Civic. Why? It was explained very clearly earlier. No, I don't know anybody on this site so these are my unsolisited 2 cents. Mr. Pour, you haven't been able to make your point with your Dyno sheets because:
A. You're saying the sheets don't show what someone told you you are really making in HP? They show blah but I was told I have blah in HP? What? So even your proof is questionable by your own admission?
B. Nobody ever said the VFAC does not show gains, they said it will not last because the computer in our S2K corrects itsef. Yes you can re-set the computer. You need to disconnect the power cable from the battery to do that. No, it will not last. Old vehicles would do these calculations they were talking about earlier in this post and the computer would take anywhere from 1 day to 3 days to re-configure. Again, our S2k's computer's are much quicker. By the way, no you can't pull a fuse, it's a relay. But why pull the relay when you can (again if you were paying attention) disconnect the battery cable? Why pull the battery cable(again if you were paying attention) if the effect dosen't last?
C. Our cars are very well engineered from the factory. Be proud and be happy. You can add bolt-ons but don't expect more than 3 HP per piece. Some good manufacturers (DC Headers, HKS Exhaust, etc.) have been told they lose horsepower. Personally I have an HKS exhaust anyway because it's a great looking piece and sounds fantastic. I knew it wasn't going to make me a rocket, nothing really will except numerous bolt ons (which won't make you a rocket but may make you a bit quicker), or going forced induction.
C'mon Mr. Pour, be serious. You want gains from this car, get a S/C or a turbo. You want to personalize your vehicle and get "variable" gains, do whatever you want. From what I've read on many forums, websites, AND published magazines, VAFC just does not work on our cars. But not just VAFC, bolt-on's in general don't show gains worth reporting. Sorry. It is what it is. Keep looking for gains, just be honest of where you find them.
This is not to discourage you "the reader" from buying a VAFC or any other product. If you want a wing, or a gauge cluster that shows "neat stuff", or stickers.... buy them. It's your money AND your ride. Just know what to expect from various sources, not one very adament person. Thanks, and I'm done so you can flame me because I won't know anyway. Again, thanks for your time.

I could have sworn I read somewhere there was NOT a problem with the ECU relearning because the of the order of the install. For example it goes sensors-->VAFC-->ECU (or sensors-->ECU-->VAFC not sure what the order was) but either way because of the order the ECU doesn't know about the tuned a/f and thus will not "relearn"

Might have to search some older posts on this because I defiantly remember reading that

EDIT: after looking through some older posts, people have stated that the ECU will relearn the tuned a/f but only at partial throttle. If the ECU detects WOT it will not compensate giving you full benefits from the VAFC

also my post refered to >= 04s

i really don't care what people spend thier money on with regards to mods - and i did in fact have a vafc in my 01 and it did provide some small gains. my 01 had a CAI and i was pulling 210 to the rear wheels

the vafc really does look cool.. but i stand by my statment that it will NOT help an 04 or >

I just installed a vafc on my supercharged my03. I didn't do it for gains as much as to get my af into safer, more efficient ranges (was running lean on the low end, rich on the top end). I don't have before and after dynos but my butt dyno (along w/ the g-sensor on my plx r500) tells me that I did have a modest hp gain. The important thing though is that I'm watching my wideband and my a/f numbers are now much more consistant (and safer). Definately worth it in my case if just for peace of mind.

p.s. Definately get the harness. Between the vafc, my plx r500 and the comptech black box, wiring all that directly into the factory wires would've been a nightmare. With the harness extention you can do it all outside the car, making sure all your solders are good, etc.

Huh.........yallz so confusing?

I want a VAFC for my 01' But I don't want to waste money if I were to install it. Tune it and get gains ...3-5 days later the ecu reprograms itself to stock? That is a waste and a hassle to disconnect/connect battery etc.
I'm not an expert but I'm here to read all yallz post for advice and so far its very unclear whether to get vafc2 or not....again this is for a ap1-2001. Or should I just wait and swap out my 01 ecu for an 03".

TIA fellas.
