Yes there is an optional factory alarm that was dealer installed on my S when I bought it.

The light flashes every few seconds.

 

Could I still get this OEM alarm done at Honda? If so, how much?

 

I've put the OEM alarm on 2 S2ks-- initially I had an 05 and now have an 07. Not hard to do yourself--- only frustrating thing is reaching up under the dash by the steering column to pull several connectors apart so you can add the alarm wiring in. The car is prewired with all the connections so its really a plug and play install.

Not sure how much labor the dealer would charge to install it....

 

nice to have oem install, but how does it compare to some of the aftermarket brands?

 

I don't know much about the aftermarket brands---lots of folks were raving about a Viper system a few years ago when I was considering options---I wanted a DIY install so the OEM was my best option.
I think one of the keys to an aftermarket system is finding a good installer.
Check out the electronics forum and the guys on there can give you thoughts on specific aftermarket options

 

You sure the car didn't come with a manual? It's usually in the upper console compartment, some people don't know this exists for months

I don't even think I have that...

 

Working as Automotive Buyer for years, it was still 6 months before I discovered (by accident) the upper glove box. Apparently the dealer even forgot or didn't know about it because I found the original window sticker and all maintenence records and receipts from first customer, as well as other personal effects that indicated they had been over-looked instead of purposefully left during the cleaning at the dealer.

 

It's not in the manual..

edit: Ohh, secret compartment, I get what you're saying now.
But the circle on the digi gauge isn't in the manual, i've looked . Well it is, but doesn't say what it is.
