Which means I have to start it up every few days as I never go anywhere.
In a pinch, you could just disconnect the negative terminal from the battery (and just connect it up when you need to drive).
I'm in a condo so there's no electrical outlet near my car, so, I've just been disconnecting the negative terminal when I put the car into "hibernation"
Just leave a 10mm wrench in the glovebox! So far, I've never had any issues (did have a little bit of crystallization on the terminals after 3-4 years, but a toothbrush and some baking soda took care of that).

(although if you're in a garage, a battery tender would probably be better for the longterm health of your battery). It's probably more harmful for the car to just start it up every few days without driving it...
And maybe if it's a particularly-beautiful day, giving yourself time to just enjoy the car outside would be nice!

Fuel Stabil and a top up of 93 Octane.
A spirited ride around town afterwards.
A quick sprint to nowhere mid afternoon.
I think she's going down for the season this week...

Default Another Suzuka!

I went to get my '06 inspected to renew my registration. As I pulled in, I saw another Suzuka in line! I've seen a couple of red S's around, but not another Suzuka. While we waited, I struck up a conversation. His S is an '04 that he's owned since he bought it new from a dealership.

Started at 8 am this morning. Now it's in hibernation until April 13th. Such a sad, sad day. April she will come...But damn it sucks not being able to drive this machine for 5 months. I love this car. Driving this car is such a visceral experience. There are times when I am driving it and think to myself...Damn....just Damn...Other cars may win hearts in the showroom, but this car wins souls on the road...

I feel your pain!! Bought my S2000 new in CT in 2004. Hurt to walk past my S2000 and my boat covered in the garage from October-May, so I requested a job transfer to S FL in 2008. Love taking the S2000 and the boat out all year long now! Just miss some winding roads and hills.

I feel your storage pain... but out of curiosity why specifically April 13th? Here in Utah, my S2k is in hibernation from the first snow day until 2 weeks after snow is probably done for the year because they salt the crap out of the roads and this thing has ZERO underbody rust after living its entire life in Arizona and I'm not about to screw that up.

5 months from the date of hibernation is all. I wait until there have been a couple of good steady/heavy rains to wash away the last remnants of salt, sand, and brine before getting it out and ready for driving season. Usually by mid-April those rains have done their job. Mine has only seen rain in its lifetime when it got caught out in it. Snow, sleet, salt, sand, brine are foreign to this car and that shall remain. Yeah it sucks having to look at it and yearn for spring but it is worth every agonizing day to maintain its "unmolested by winter" condition. I am not a snob about it...to each his own...every owner should drive and do what they want to their S. I am really lucky to have this car. I have known it since it was new back in May of 2001 and was able to buy it in July 2018 when the original owner finally decided it was time to part with it. 16,437 miles then and today it sits at 32,062 on the clock.
