What to do after removing amber turn signal cover??
OK, I am going to remove the amber turn signal covers, my question is, what do I do after that??? Do I just leave them open and clear, or is there something translucent I need to put over the lightbulb???? Thanks in Advance!!
Hi S2Klady,
Jeah, just take the nasty orange bit out, fling *that* in the garbage and seal the lamps again. (Do seal them properly, otherwise they might fog up - like mine did after the first attempt - it is completely fixed now!)
The only thing is that I badly want to replace the stock bulbs with amber ones, but I CAN'T find anything. I tried ordering them through some internet sites(!), but I still am empty handed (which sucks!!)
<<Anybody out there that knows a reliable source for these lamps???>>
Good luck with clearing them out; you'll LOVE the result!! So much cleaner look!

I've had clear corners for a while and got annoyed at the clear turn signals being almost useless since they were so bright and clear in color.
This weekend, I found some orange bulbs that fit exactly in place of the clear turn bulbs-- they are single filament, 12V, 21 watt. I purchased them for about $10 each from a store called Car Boy in Houston. The front of the bulb package says "B1 hybrid" and the back of the package lists the company web site as: http://www.nissei-polarg.co.jp/
I also picked up a catalog from Martel Brothers in Katy, TX while I was near that area, and it appears that they also sell this bulb in multiple colors (amber, red, blue, etc). Their web site is here: http://www.martelbros.com/
Since I have a silver S2000, I think the "ultrawhite" blue bulbs would have looked great for the turn bulbs as well as the side marker bulbs, but since they don't blink orange, it does compromise safety a little.
In the end, the cleared turn signals with orange bulbs and clear sidemarkers with amber bulbs is the best combination of aesthetics and functionality for me...

I have the Japanese spec car, which has clear signals and orange bulbs. However, they still appear to be orange signals as the bulb reflects orange (I mean when they are not flashing). I think that the only way to keep them looking clear is to keep clear bulbs in them, which I agree, is not good for safety.
Yeah that right, they have enough colour to the bulb that they look amber all the time. Not as much as the US version, but still very noticeable.

If I understand you correctly, you're saying that even when they're off they make the clear lens appear amber?
