His budget is an additional 400ish. Right?
Yes, around $400 for extras and $240 for valves. He can buy OE sized stainless steel valves for that.

This head has the upgraded AP2 retainers, 1 mm over sized SS valves, and a port and polish everything else is stock

sorry to be an s.n.i.o.p. I was just relaying back some info I read and heard, I am taking the time to read the thread. It looks great, but sounds a little out of my price range.

Unfortunately YES my budget is low (<1000) because I'm a full time student (working hardly part time) and tuition at UCF just raped me.

After discussing it with my mechanic, it looks liiike I might use:

the OEM exhaust valves
followed by brian crower springs&retainers,
and I'm taking my bare head to a place called "The International Head Exchange" -a machine shop known for their reputation here in central Florida; where they will make sure everything is as good as new (they quoted me at 250).

Thanks again s2ki guys, please for some input on my current decision and any other comments, suggestions and feedback; it is all much appreciated.
