What if the stook rolled????
Duck!
Seriously, the notion of being "thrown clear" as Utah S2K posted, is absolutely a wive's tale. Thrown clear into what? A tree? The pavement? A curb? That will reduce your odds of survival to that of a motorcyclist without a helmut: about zero.
Unless you're thrown clear into a 4 foot pile of foam rubber, you're always better off belted into the car. That way, the car, not your arms, legs, hands, or head, absorbs much of the energy of the crash.

The black one that CG posted a pic of is, if I recall correctly, a Canadian accident in which the car was travelling at over 100 when the rollover occurred.

There were several S2K's that rolled in early 2000. This car was in Northern CA., there was another black in Canada, a red(?) in Tally FL. and a couple of others that I saw pictures of.
The point is that any car can roll. A couple of years ago a little old white haired lady rolled a Corvette right in front of me. She spun the car and hit a 6 inch pile of sand as she went off the edge of the pavement -- over she went.
hey cg,
you are right. i dont remember the date, but one of the first if not the first s2000 in tallahassee suffered a fatal rollover. the story is that an older gentleman(mid 50's) had an argument with his wife. he jumped in his new car....and well, never came back. very sad. be careful everyone. my guess is you would be out of luck in the occurance of a rollover, but lets not test it.
