I had wanted one since the car was just a prototype in the late 90s. Always said that I would have one someday. I have always been a huge Honda guy (89 CRX, 96 Accord, 99 Acura TL, currently an 07 Accord) b/c they are in my opinion the most well made cars on the road.

Recently in the last year, I had been just sniffing around, but never test drove one for the sole reason that I knew I would REALLY get the itch. In early June while my Accord was being serviced, I wandered across the street to the used Honda lot & test drove an 03 silverstone on red with 16k and loved it.

After that, I got really obsessed. On Saturday June 30th, I woke up and thought "Hmm...Today is the last day of the month. I wonder what the dealer can do for me."

Here I am with an 2007 Laguna and I am in love.

Me and my wife were sharing a car (EP3) because I take the bus to work, so we didn't really NEED a second car, but once in awhile we had conflicts. Because I didn't need anything practical, I started looking at motorcycles, then old CRXs, Del Sols, Miatas, MR2 Spyders... I got close to buying an MR2 spyder for 15k then saw a nice silverstone for 17k and realized that it would be stupid to settle for the MR2.

Even though it was about 3x more than I originally planned on spending on some simple transportation, I feel like it was one of the best purchases I've ever made.

drove the sti - gelt solid..stable - nice.
drove this and was like---> wtf!! this was so much funner!
( that, and i come from owning several hondas / swapped motors / streetracing since 92' ) couldnt break tradition ( even though i did have a g35 prior to the s2k)

 

1. the look of the car is desprately amazing. how can you not love this car when the hard top or even the top is down its just so god damn amazing

I was stuck between an 06 350z and a s2k in my decision for this car purchase. Pretty much just came down to the fact that I could get the s2k for over $100/month cheaper. Now that I have it I am SOOO glad I went with the s2k. My buddy already has an 06 350z and I really didn't want to be rolling in the same car as my best friend (he is literally practically my brother).

Either that or because I saw 2fast2furious and want that sexy pink car!

 

For my needs and wants, the car was perfect, as if I had designed it. Quick, beautiful 6 speed shifter, great seats, rear drive, Honda quality, handling, 2 seater. Funny, that fact that's it a drop top is only an extra bonus. I would have bought the car if it was a fixed-roof coupe.

 

I should also note this; If I was a billionaire, I would STILL own an s2000 among my other prized exotics. I really like the car that much.
