The 90-degree aluminum box; with the 2 air ducts and the 2 tubes that could hold some liquid; going in and out of it.

Looks just like every other liquid-to-air intercooler I have seen, but I haven't a clue as to why the smaller tubes would be a dif. size.

Actually, if you look closely, the white/clear plastic tube coming out the back is the valve cover breather tube. The front tube is almost certainly the air intake tube for the exhaust air injection pump. Both of these tubes normally connect to the stock rubber intake tube.

Hey everyone-

I love ARC stuff (their intercoolers are tops), but the ARC airbox is a bust.

I had one of these garbage intake boxes in my other car- we netted about -30HP under load with the hood down compared to an HKS SPF system. Think about it- it sucks all the hot air from the top panel... right next to the biggest obstruction there could be to a panel filter- the hood. And on my version it had a smaller filter on the side, where it ended up sucking all the air from anyway. Talk about a serious restriction.

It's a good intake if you're worried about water inhalation, but a total POS if you want performance- and at that price, it had better perform better than stock. Which, unfortunately, it doesn't.

I don't know how they sell all of them in Hong Kong- and I see them everywhere. I guess it doesn't matter when there's no dynometer to check gains or losses...

I hear ya on that, 38 Super is kinda an oddball cal for anybody! See it alot in competitive shooting though, you can load it up to make majors like .45 but it's the diameter of 9mm so you can cram almost twice as many in a double stack mag. Problem is, a semi-rimmed cartridge in an auto is not the most reliable so many use 9x21.
Sorry for rambling Richard, didn't know you were in to guns too.

BTW, I'll be down your way again 3rd week of April, lets hook up and BS about cars (again) and guns (this time). You in to Shotguns at all?
