What is the smallest shift knob for the S?
woa, that looks TOO small!
when i first made it i thought it was the greatest idea,
then realized that it was way too small for some people.
so i stopped making it.
some people loved it,
some people absolutely hated it.
i noticed that it gets quite comfy and smooth/fast after the car warms up,
but when the gear box is cold it gets hard to shift, and very seaily mis-shift.
gotta say,
i really appericiate those who tested out the shift knobs for me.

Not that you can buy this exactly as shown, but I got one of Rick's "flawed" round shifter balls and turned it down in my drill press. I originally used it in a polished finish but it was slippery and got hot as hell in the summer with the top down.
So I bought some truck bed liner spray paint, scuffed up the knob with sandpaper, and put about 20 coats of paint on the knob. It has a nice textured finish that's easy to grip. Even though it probably gets just as hot as before, the paint acts as an insulator so when you grab it the heat does not transfer to your hand (i.e. it doesn't feel hot).
