Well the first lil tidbit is something someone already mentioned -- the fact that a tire's diameter expands the faster you go.

So then it is the fact that a tire's diameter expands with increase in acceleration that throws the speedometer off?

even tho my honda powerwasher is rated at 2400 psi, i'm sure i got at least 2490. course i had to break into the city water line and take the flow governor off. i would have exceeded 2500 for sure if my wife hadn't started crying and telling me i was gonna take the siding off the house!

i also got my honda 215 power mower up to 5.2 mph! i had to take the clippings bag off it, run the cutting length at 5" and put 100 octane gas in it. unfortunately at that speed i briefly lost control and ran thru the rose garden and over my neighbors cat b4 i got it back.

nice to know honda builds that kinda power into their products!

ROTFLMAO.. I always need a post like this to make my night complete before I go to sleep.
Sounds like we have a "Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor" on our hands.

... so I re-wired it! ...

Hey, here's one to chew on guys. If speed increases a tire's diameter (QED circumference), wouldn't that make the speedo read even LESS than the the actual speed?

I admit, you probably need GPS or real track equipment to settle the debate.

FYI, 110 MPH on the way to Cape Cod for about 20 seconds at just over 1000 miles on the odo. I thought I was being irresponsible, then I was overtaken by some fool in a hopped up pickup truck!!! (true story) I decided to let him pass

One of the sales ladies at the Dealer told me it would do 130 mph in 3rd gear!... uh huh
"Interesting" I told her "the Viper I drove up in only does 113 mph in 3rd."

How do these rumors get started?

I hit 162 before shutting down while chasing a Z06 on 580 westbound. The car had more reserves but I was too scared. I could have taken it to redline 6th easily. Top up w/ my Supercharger
