Default white/red 2000 model in Texas:history ?

I am looking at a white 2000 model with about 17k miles. It is at a dealer in Tenn, but it was bought at an auction in Dallas, & the VIN ends in 003352. The CARFAX check was clean, but the car has a crease in the passenger airbag cover. I was wondering if anyone might know more about the history of this car.

I don't know if saving $5k is worth it not knowing how this car was treated. What should I check before I decide ?

Thanks
Mike

How much are they offering it for? Cars that are bought in auctions are usually messed up for some reason. But then there are those that don't have problems. You can take the chance, or save up a little more.

Where in TX was it registered? If it was Houston, it might have been flood damaged.

Registered in Dallas, one owner at 20 miles, and the next owner at 15k miles with a lien. No flood or salvage on Carfax, but like you said, auction sometimes indicates a problem. Dealer in Tennessee is part of one of the big dealer groups, but thought someone on this forum might remember an incident with a white car in Dallas. Dealer asking $28 with 17k miles, but am considering a 2002 model with glass window and any other new model changes.

This could have been a lease. when the lease end, the car go to auction. Or it could have been a repo from the lein...

i'd probably chose the '01 white with red/black over the '02 white with red.

good luck with which ever color you chose. keep in mind that the glass window is smaller than the plastic window (about half the size?)...
