I am currently using Mobil 1 10/40. I have used it in ALL of my vehicles. I can't say about the power as my wife was the primary driver until a few weeks ago when she got her car. But at my next oil change I will be using Royal Purple. As far as I know it's the only oil proven to increase horsepower.

I switched over to the Mobil 1 synthetic at 7500 miles (2nd oil change). So far so good.........I've been very pleased with this oil. The engine has run beautifully over its 22,000 miles and has only burned about a 1/2 quart every 3000 miles.......very clean burn too.

For the price you just can't beat it. It really is a good product. The real question is what weight to use. Honda recommends 10w30 but I use 0w30 in everything but the S2000.

My concern isn't whether your engine is smoother or your car's running great. Your engine's going to run great on regular oil.

I have a couple of S2000s that can be used as "speed" references. Dynoing the car would be cool, but it's just not practical for me so I just run against some buddy's S2000 to see if we can get away from each other.

It's rather unscientific, but after the Mobil One change, I'm going to pit my S2000 against another S2000 that ran pretty much even with me the first time around.

We'll see if Mobil One makes any difference.

And for those who are saying "if it's good for xxxx it's good enough for me" and "I've used Mobil One on all my cars for xxx amount of years and everything's cool"... good for you, but that's just a bit too much blind faith for me. Especially for a product you spend extra dollars on for the life of the car. You tell me the last time you've used Mobil One on a 2.0 liter, 9000rpm car. previous to the S2K.

It's unique so we gotta do at least something to test it out.

Thanks for your replies, dogs.

Costa Mesa Honda recommended Mobil 1 10/30 and that is what I have been using after my second oil change. At 22,000 miles and no problems in sight. Also have been using nothing but 100 octane racing fuel since 15,000 miles. Also put in a bottle of Zmax with linkite engine coating; engine is so smooth....

I've been using Mobil 1 for about a year. I'm at 25,000 miles now. I waited till about 17,000 before I switched. The engine hardly uses any oil, unless I VTEC/redline it often.

Excuse me, but for a company to use Mobile 1 standard on its $135,000+ cars, I think that says something about the quality of the product and its usefulness. You don't think that they did research to decide which oil to use in there products. I don't think this is blind faith at all. I think this is proven faith with alot of $$$ backing it up.

I checked out Costa Mesa Honda in 2000 for an S2000. They were really something. First of all, their service area looked like a series of stalls in Calcutta, but filthy. Second, they wanted $12,000 over sticker. When I asked for a test drive, the manager said "buy it, then you test drive it." "What if I don't like it?" I asked. "Then we'll unwind the deal." I wouldn't piss on that place if it burst into flames in front of me. I certainly wouldn't believe anything they had to say about an S2000.

BTW, bought my S2000 for MSRP in Corona. Have my car serviced at Honda World in Westminster. I also dope my gas with that Unocal 76 100 octane juice from Irvine. Thanks for that tip, Tan.
