why am i judged so often
I dont really understand why people even care if your parents bought the car for you. even though they didnt. But they ought to mind their own business. I can understand if some one acted like a jackass such as the guy who crashed the m3 into a house. But if your responsible full time student and your parents can afford to help you out whats wrong with that? I hope to make enough money to get my kid a nice car. What ever they like with in reason. But its not like i would go out and get them an m3 for their first car maybe a beater first then a nice one once they show they are responsible.
I will admit my parents have paid for my cars my insurance and even my gas since i was 16. But in return i mad straight As through out high school and i took college level classes earning college credit while in high school i was able to go to the college of my choice and am enrolled in 18 hours of college class for this fall. I feel that in a way i have earned what i have and it wasnt simply handed to me. If i didnt keep my grades up or i didn't take the most rigours course through out high school i wouldn't have gotten the things i did. If i was working 40hrs a week i wouldn't have been able to maintain my grades as well as i did. Its not like they threw money at me any time i wanted it just for major things like a car they would foot the bill but if i wanted say a new pc i would have to come up with that cash on my own. If you chose for it to be school can be more demanding than any job and why shouldn't you be rewarded for that. I understand that alot of kids parents couldn't afford to reward them in this way but thats no reason to be jealous and taunt some one.
Oh and in my town if you dont drive a truck ppl look at you like your the worst thing they have ever seen in their life. But if your in a truck they wave and smile and seem to be the most friendly people in the world.

SPOILED BRAT!!
jk man i'm jealous you have a s2k at such a young age. even at 21 almost 22, i don't have as close to the money to owning such a car. i did buy my own car year and half ago and paid for insurance under my own name. now it's a little cheaper b/c i'm under my parents name but i still pay for everything so i know how you feel.
only thing i wouldn't have done was spend my "life savings" on a 1 huge purchase. that's one of the reasons why i didn't get a better car in the beginning b/c i realized i could use some extra cash on the side just for emergencies and stuff.

you saved up 12k between 12 and 16...
not sure how you had the control to do that when your that young or how you got the money. Anyways congrats.
AND you have to pay for your insurance, gas, repairs and college
dude I give you props for trying to pay for all that and the last thing I would be doing is putting on an intake that gives you MAYBE 5whp.
I thought my life was rough because my parents didnt buy my car pay for my gas or insurance. Thats what you get for living in a rich area where all your friends get free cars insurance and gas and a FREE APPARTMENT.
