Why did you chose an S
I did have a Lexus IS200. Bought new, as at the time an S was just out of reach.
Friend of a friend had a used S and I thought f..k it get a used one. So I did.
Couldn't find an NFR so settled for a Berlina. Ended up writing it off, and straight back into a brand new NFR.
Just too good a car. Only thing I love.

You have a Ferrari Dino? Pictures...? Please?

The FIAT Dino is the same motor as the Ferrari Dino, awesome twin-overhead cam V6 with 3 2-Barrel Webers (one carb barrel per cylinder, the thing loves the gas) and a 8,500 RPM redline.
When I was test driving cars, if I went for the Boxster or Lotus I was going to have to sell my Dino, my wife loved the S2000 enough that she said we could figure out a way to buy the S2000 and keep the Dino (I love her (both the Dino and my wife) )
Pics of my car are at http://www.dinospider.com/

Before the stook, I had been driving and modding an AE86 for 5 years. I daresay my AE86 was fairly built up with a list of mods 5 pages long. It was small, rwd, high revving, peaky, easy to toss around, and very fun to drive.
When the time came to upgrade, the s2k was really the only modern car that compared to my old AE86, so I was sold on it.

Had a RX-7, but started test driving roadsters. Tried the Honda S2000 first, then a Boxter, BMW Z3, Z4 and 325, and the Miata. Kept coming back to the S2000 as it was just the most fun to drive. Haven't regretted my decision at all, atlhough all the others were fine cars.
I wanted 3 things in my car.
1. Leather
2. OEM HID
3. Manual
The fact that the S2000 fulfills those along with being a Honda, in my price range, a convertible, the best gearbox around, and one hell of a fun machine sold me.

In my case I wanted a RWD, manual, and convertible car. The leather, lines and looks, engine note, fun factor, HID's and Honda's reliability are very appreciated bonuses!!!
I needed a sporty daily driver replacement for my old 92 prelude Si. Used IS300, Boxster, S2000, and the new civic Si sedan were all tested and researched. I couldn't find a manual transmission IS300 so it was crossed off. The Boxster was nice but had a few reliability problems (motor) so it was crossed off. The civic Si was nice but I wasn't sure about the looks of the front end. The civic did have the mileage and the extra room. In the end my insurance agent told me not to worry about the room since I alread own two four door trucks to haul passengers in. He wanted me to get the S2000. His logic made sense so I bought the used 05 S2000. He charges me $40 a month for the S2000's insurance.
I was looking at the 350Z, but it is not a comfortable passenger car because of the bar under the passenger's leg and you have to turn your legs in to the left. This ruled it out because it was just to uncomfortable for my wife. We had the same problem with our '87 Corvette.
Looking around in '03, there wasn't much out there in the under 50 grand range that was worth anything , except for the S2000. The local dealer was wanting 6K over sticker!! They were asking and getting 2-3k over in south Florida. I called my brother-in-law, who is a wholesaler and he made a call. Fifteen minutes later, a Honda dealership manager called me and said he had my car, silverstone with all red interior, and it was 7k under sticker. Two days later I picked it up and drove it out of the showroom where it was the "featured" car.
I will probably keep this car forever. It is my everyday and everywhere car. We have taken it on two 6,000 mile trips and it has never seen a dealership since the day I got it. I have a shop and do all my own maintenance work. It is a no mod car, unless you think a K&N filter, Voodoo knob and a cup holder qualify as mods. 90% of my driving is top down. It is my seventh convertible and the best one of all.

i was driving my 2001 miata...i was wanting more hp and more car and ran accross a guy who had a honda, test drove it..i was sold. researched and found that the car was changing in 2004, test drove a 2003(i had driven a 2001) and waited, bought the 2004 without a test drive. never looked back..
i change cars allot...this car i have no interest in changing...that is strange for me, it satisfies so well..sure someday something else, but now my 4 year old honda is just fine.

I do not buy new so when you consider the cost of a used s2k, power to weight, tight shifting and the cost to maintain, I do not know anything out there better.
Throw in that red line and I get a smile every time.
