I have noticed that a lot of members have had two or three S2000s. Why, when intra-year changes are so few, do you buy multiple model years of the same car?

I understand if it's wrecked or something... but I've just never seen so many people buy multiple cars of the same model and generation.

The '00 and '01 years are about the same. The '02 model has the most changes. The most noteable being the glass window and more color options.

I bought the "same" car twice in two years for two reasons (and that's a lot of two's).

1) I got a killer deal on my first S. I bought at MSRP when many were still paying way over sticker. I was able to then sell that car less than a year later for damn near as much as I bought it for. I got killed on taxes, but it was too good a deal to pass up (especially since I really wanted the glass window of the '02)
2) IMO, the S is the best sports car out there dollar for dollar. I'd probably buy another if (God forbid) something should happen to mine.

My 01 was crashed. Hence I have a '02 on order. There's no other car in the market that I even considered for that price range. The S is a fine machine.

Everybody should have three. One for driving, one for racing and one for the future.

Because of the results of trailing throttle snap oversteer?

does any one have more than one currently?

i was considering getting an additional one, then explored getting the WCM F20c powered 7 clone, but am no longer pursuing these.

i basically "need" 500hp for a street/track vehicle or else i'll be left wanting......i hope this new Viper is not a POS. nonetheless
i won't be ridding myself of my 2000 as it is currently the greatest vehicle of all time(at least my version is).
