why do some people not like the s2000
To prove your point, I told a few coworkers that I was thinking about trading in my S for an M3. Their response was all real positive, except for one. His response was, "you should get an S4 instead."
also, i was just on a local car forum and some guy with like a 99 Neon was trash talking Hondas and i just posted a picture of an S2000 and he started going off on how much better the SRT-4 is, like he even owned one...woo hoo, its faster straight line (barely), but the S2000 is an all around much better car...
To each their own. I had two different GF's (not at the same time and they're both "ex") had two different opinions that were a reflection of their own personal taste and neither one of them had anything to do with what I thought.
First one, I dated while I was car shopping. I had already ruled out any BMW but was virtually dragged into the BMW lot and walked straight over to a convertable 330 by her. I didn't get it at first but the sales guy came over and she did all the talking...and the light goes on in my head...she was the "corporate" type and thought any BF of her's should be driving a proper "corporate" vehicle. Needless to say, she was out of town when I closed the deal on the S.
The one after her, loved the color but not much else. Prefered top up and A/C on and didn't like how "snug" it was...actually brought up the idea I could trade it in for an SUV (I would put my jewels in a vice before I did anything like that BTW)...she quickly worked her way to "ex" status from there.
Moral of the story...opinions about cars are no different than opinions about anything else...and you know what they say about opinions and @ssholes. You're paying for it, your going to be drivin' it...get whatever the hell YOU want and don't worry about anyone else.

Any person that bad mouths my S2000, I ask them if they have ridden in or driven one before. Well, they have all said no. So I tell them they just might change their mind about the car if they did. I bought my S2000 one month ago coming from owning 2 Mustang Cobras, a Mustang GT, and a 69 Chevelle (not at the same time), and the S2000 is the best car I have ever owned. My Mustangs could accelerate quicker, but not by much, they sound better (my opinon), and they have double the torque, but everything else on the S2000 makes up for it.
