why do some people not like the s2000
I think this whole thread is interesting because it reminds me of the whole "Harley vs. Japanese bike" argument that I am use to hearing. When I had my Suzuki Bandit, people use to ask me all the time, "When are going to get a REAL bike." A Harley, in other words. I'd just smile and say that I didn't like to "cruise" and wanted a bike that had good handling. If I had wanted a cruiser, then maybe Harley would have been parked in my garage.
I think the analogy of a Harley being like an American muscle car is pretty accurate. American's in general are brought up with the mentality that bigger is better and that a car that can do the 1/4 mile the quickest must be the best. Plus I think there is a touch of xenophobia attached to those who don't like foreign made cars. I still have my Mustang GT and still love the torque that it makes, but it will never be able to replace the agile handling of the S2000.
I agree that vehicles all have strengths and weaknesses thay appeal to different peoples' tastes. That doesn't make them "good" or "bad."

Except for the fact that Harley's are rediculously slow compared to japenese bikes. Kind of kills the whole muscle car theory when a Hayabusa can leave any harley zip codes behind without much effort.
