Why do you drive an S2000?
The S2000 is 10 years old now and its still beautiful. Its like a 20 year old super model that never ages. To me it drives better than it looks and that is saying a lot. A true sports car with Honda reliability, doesn't get any better than that.
I saw the S2000 for the first time in GranTurismo 2. I was around 10 years old and in love.
In 2007, my first car ended up being an '07 silverstone S2K. I didn't even really know how to drive a manual transmission.
I taught myself the basics on a friend's Kia Sorento and once I got decent at it, I began driving the S2K constantly, but not as much as people would think. Within the first year, I only put a mere 3,000-some-odd-miles on it.
I traded in the S2K for a CR on October 2nd, 2009. The CR was simply beautiful. I was originally going to buy a modestly used M3 coupe (w/ my dad's help with the downpayment), but the CR made me jizz... Plus, the M3's monthly payment sounded ridiculous to me, and the 335i coupe didn't seem great after stepping away from an M3.
Now I'm at about 16,900 miles with this CR and it hasn't even been a year. I drive the shit out of it.

My first experience with an S2000 was a year or two after the car released. A friend of mine sold his 1 of 5 Chevy Camaro Anniversary edition to get a BB AP1. Frankly, I thought he was insane for doing so, even after he let me drive it a few times. But in 2006 my opinion changed.
I saw my first Laguna Blue S2000 at the Washington DC auto show. Like most others, j couldn't afford one and city living would have been quite harsh. It would be another three years before I would finally get my hands on the S and I haven't had a single regret. I love this car!

i had my 240sx at that time, probably sometime in 08. back then i was still a 350z fan and honestly thought the s2000 was a little girly looking. (then again, i have never really seen it up close, i probably had an image in my mind similar to a miata)
my friend had just bought a car from a dealership and we decided to go there again because i wanted to see a variety of cars they had (350z, g35 coupe, s2000, rsx-s) and i sat in all of them. i sat in the 350z first and i didn't like it the second i got in. all these tiny useless compartments everywhere, everything felt like crap. same story w/ the g35 coupe...but when i got in the s2000 i immediately knew it was what i wanted. and even better, i got to test drive it and i was in love ever since.
i only got to test drive another one a year later and both times it was in the winter. it wasn't until i bought mine recently that i got to enjoy what top down really meant. i can't imagine people that buy hardtops and leave them on for good. top down makes the driving 100000x better.
also to summarize it was everything that i wanted in a car:
-2 seater
-conv (which was a plus)
-manual (another plus that it never came in auto)
-reliable and cheaper to maintain
-rwd
-looks great
-a true sports car, not a modded economobile sportscar wannabe

I've always wanted to own 2 things from Honda - an NSX and an S2000. I have been a Honda fan a long time, starting out with:
2003 RSX Type - S (2002) - my first paid for car out of college
2004 Honda Accord (2004) - practical car for the family, traded in RSX
2006 Honda Pilot (2005) - got in conjunction with the Accord for more practicality
2006 RSX Type-S (2005) - traded in Accord for some sporty fun
2008 TSX (2007) - traded in RSX since wifey was tired of Pilot
2008 Pilot (2008) - lease on old Pilot was up
2005 S2000 (2009) - lease was near up on the TSX
Love the S2000 and plan on keeping it forever. I want to get my hands on an NSX in the next year or two, but I'm afraid most will be long gone by then.
The first time I saw the S2000 I knew I had to have one. First time I sat in one and drove it, I knew I was going to get one. I waited a bit too long to get my hands on a new one (CR even), so I got the first one that was in good shape that I could find. Peggy (the S's name - and yes, like Peggy from Married with Children, what can I say, I thought she was hot back then) and I have been happy ever since! She's going to undergo some changes soon with a new cooling plate and snorkel combination and the Q300 exhaust system. Hope to get some new rims and rubber in the next 3-6 months as well.

i loved the s2000 when it was first released. back in '00 an acquaintance gave me a ride and redlined every gear 1st through 3rd with the topdown and from then on i told myself i would have one.
the s2000 has a timeless look (like the nsx). it gets good gas mileage, it handles amazingly, and very affordable. hard to beat.

Like many, I drooled over the SSM and the early S2k's. But over the years I forgot about it and when I got around to buying a sports/sporty car in 2008, I bought a BMW 135i. It was a great car, but I realized after 18 mo., that I really wanted a convertible. No, not just a convertible, a roadster.
So I drove a Z4 CPO, and various friends' S2k, '02 Boxster, and NC Miata. They were all nice, but something about the S just spoke to me in a way the others didn't. It felt more raw. To some that would be bad, but to me it was perfect. Pulled the trigger on my '08 LBP and have been a very happy camper since
