Why do you drive an S2000?
Well I loved imports since middle school. My first car was a 94 integra LS/VTEC...yup my ricer days
. But anyways, I ended up working at a honda dealership when I was 18 yrs old as a new car salesman. I knew what a S2K was especially after seeing it in The F&F, but never really seen it in person cause even at that time 2003 there weren't many. But one day the manager told me to move a couple new 2004 S2K's to the back. So I grabbed the keys and took them to the back 1 by 1. Upon driving the last one to the back, I was not in a hurry to get out of it. the seats just hugged me giving me butterflies in my stomach, so I decided to take this one for a test drive, and it was BB in color an oh sooo clean. As I drove down a road adjacent to the dealership that goes a far way, I felt this energy inside me that said "Pedal to the Floor" VTEC kicked in
My heart filled with joy...a joy i've never felt before. Then it hit me...I must own a S2K. At that time I didn't have the funds of affording one, but sum time down the line I bought one, and I have no regrets what so ever. Thats MY STORY......MY LOVE for the S2K.

My previous cars were a race modified MGB roadster, a 93 Miata LE and an 06 Subaru STI.
I missed the convertible after I got rid of the MG and the Miata, and wanted something small and fun to drive again for my DD.
I picked up my S new in 08...and after I started missing the fun of the STI boost, I SC'ed the car with SOS.
Now it feels like I have the perfect mix of fun, small and easy to manuever, and fast.

There was always something about it that just looked amazing, all the stats the look everything. I came from a 98 accord coupe v6 which was a fantastic car that i really loved and still miss sometimes. I always liked the S since I first saw one, but then I got my first test drive in an 01 white with the FULL red interior that I wasn't a fan of. I cant really fully describe that test drive. It was a religious experience. I had trouble getting out of the car and walking I was shaking so bad. I had a stupid grin on my face for a solid week, like a 6 year old boy that just saw his first pair of boobies or something. 2 weeks later I had my 05 black on black.
Now here I am 5 years and 80k miles later, and it's STILL giving me that same adrenaline rush that I had during the test drive. I've got almost 200 passes down the strip, a couple autoxes (first one gave me the same shaking and stupid grin experience) a few trips to the dragon logged. It's my only car and I drive it every single day and yet it still gives me a feeling of pure joy and ecstasy all time time.
It's so hard to explain to someone who doesn't really get it. Ive driven friends cars that are much faster, much more comfortable or get better mileage and even some that handle better, cost more, or look more impressive to other, but they just don't evoke that same wonderful emotion that the s2000 does.
I could ramble on for pages but the best way I can explain is to tell all of you to go to the garage put the key in, drop the top, push the start button, and go for a drive and you'll have a better answer than I could ever possibly put into words. THAT'S why I drive the s2000.

, I will show it in the production class of the Concours d'Excellence at Pebble Beach. If I'm still able to drive it, and if nothing happens to it between now and 2027, I'll see all of you at Pebble Beach and I'll dedicate my trophy to all who participate in this thread. I fully well expect to win.

I drive an s because it's one of the few cars that rewards the driver. Its a driving machine,..in tune,. on the edge. Its high strung and always demands you push it harder.Driving the s is like a drug
Simple.
My first car was a Honda CRX HF...good first car and taught me a lot about Hondas.
Then I wanted something with more power so I upgraded to a 1989 Honda Prelude Si, with more than 2X the power of the HF! This car got me through college and when I finally got a real job after school I wanted to buy a newer car, really wanted an S2000 but this was in 2002 and S2000's then even used were in the high 20's and out of my price range. So I settled on a 2001 Honda Prelude I bought for $19K and ended up loving that car and kept it 7 years!
In 2006 I had enough savings for a car to buy a 4 year old S2000 with cash and jumped at the opportunity! I then sold the Prelude about a year later and this S2000 is by far the best car I have ever owned and there is nothing out there better for the money or easier to maintain that is this much fun!

The reason I got my S2000 was because I've always have had at least one Honda in the family (all Accords) and know the dependability of them...but my wife has always let me have at least one 'toy'as well.
This was my previous toy...82' Toyota Starlet w/4AGE engine w/ webers:
Car:

Although I loved my Starlet....I wanted a convertible that was fast and dependable...took a look at BMW Z3 and Z4's....but always liked the S2000 so I researched and found my new toy and I am very happy:

Long Story Short...
2 disorderly conduct w/ vehicle tickets in a row with my 240...
Bought an SR20 for my S-14...it was full of salt water and barnicles....got reimbursed all my money, I bought everything to rebuild it. Lost interest due to being impatient and all the BS above^....
Time to move on...
I wanted a NEW rear wheel drive car. I didn't know what to get. All my buddies were Nissan guys and wanted me to get a Z but I hate them. My wife suggested I try test driving the S2000, It was always in the back of my mind but I had never even been in a convertible before.
I test drove my 05 rio and was hooked I bought it that same day back in the spring of 2006. I can't stop driving it. Even after trying other cars out like my buddies and my wife's new car. Nothing comes close to the enjoyment the S provides. Its like the guy who had a vette and sold it to get another S on this forum. I just can't imagine driving something as fun. (the reliability and affordability are an extra bonus)
