Why do you drive an S2000?
I use to hate honda. I was big into rx7's and after my deployment to iraq i was looking to buy a 3rd gen rx to replace my second gen. I was looking at auto trader to see if anyone had at least one of the rare beauties and of course none. so the search continued till one day i was on auto trader and i accedentlly clicked honda and sure enough the s2000 came up. One of my friends who is a honda freak started mouthing off facts about the s untill i told him i thought they were garbage (boy did i have to put my foot in my mouth when i showed up at his place with mine) As the end of the deployment grew near i decided to drive the s because my friend kept telling me to at least test drive one. when i got home i test drove one hit v-tec once and i was sold. There is something about driving with the top down wind in your hair and feeling like no one can touch you and that is exactly how i feel every time i drive my S. It is one of those things you can't explain to someone who does not own one and does not have a chance to drive one every day. It is just an amazing car
My oldest sister was shopping for a Honda Civic back in 1999 and I saw the S2k sitting in the showroom. I saw it and it was a really gorgeous car and I looked at the price tag and it was something like 40K. At the time my sister was looking at 15k civics so I thought to myself, wow how ridiculous, a 40K honda???
Who would buy that???
Anyways fast forward
6 years and every time I saw an s2k on the street or at a carshow I had to take a pic with it and droooool all over it. When I graduated college, that was the first big purchase I made. I bought it because it was love at first sight. The car won me over before I even drove it and even every time I drove it now,
even today, it still puts a smile on my face.
S2000= Performance + reliability + extremely good looks =
I don't know about you guys but my current feeling is that the only reason I would sell her is if I had to let her go to buy a porsche. Other than that, I would not let my car go.

Former car was an '03 RSX Type S. I loved the car to death, but the mod bug bit me and I quickly developed a laundry list of upgrades. I started to look around for a car that I would be happy with as-is, and the S2000 caught my eye. I liked the idea that it was tuned so well from the factory that I wouldn't feel like I needed to swap in a CAI, exhaust, etc. I also liked how the dash, cluster, etc were focused completely on the driver, even more so than the RSX.
I attended an SCCA event and had a chance to ride along in an AP1 on the course. After the run, I was sold- that week I reverted the RSX to stock and put it on the market.
After the RSX found a new home, I bought my AP2 from a private owner in Georgia. I actually had planned to spend most of the weekend cruising across the state to test drive a couple others in the area, but after driving that car I was absolutely smitten.
I still chuckle whenever I think about the ridiculous amount of sports car the S2000 is these days for so little money.

I have always been a big fan of the S2000. Honestly, I have had the pleasure of owning 2 honda CR-Xs, 3 Del Sols, 2 EF Hatchbacks and a Prelude. I have a new career and to "reward" myself, I am very adamant about getting a S2K!
So why do you drive one? Move up in the honda world from civics? Just went based on the positive reviews? I'm just curious

Seeing similar stories of why people enjoy driving this car makes me want to tell you a bit about mine. Since i was a kid in about 7-8th grade around 1994-95, I believe automobile magazine had some secret snapshots of what the s2000 was gonna look like. The body style was very much there, but from what i remember, the headlights were much thinner in respect to the current ap1/2 setup. After seeing that article and snapshot, i was hooked. I read that article like it was written by god himself. My friends all thought i was crazy and that I probably would never get one. Hell my ex even laughed at the notion of getting an S at the time. Well hell, after 16 years since i read that article, and a breakup of massive proportions, i finally decided to get my sorry ass out of my chair and go for it since noone was holding me back. 3 weeks of searching and i find the perfect S2000 and take it home on March 4 2010. To this day i still think to myself, wow, you actually got it you effin jerk! Good times...
Ive always wanted an s2000 ever since i was too young to drive.Everytime i saw one i couldnt look away till it was gone.
I couldnt have it so i decided to convince my dad to buy one for himself.I traded in my civic so he could get one since we had too many cars.He could learn how to drive manual well so he gave it to me and i emptied out my pockets and gave him money from selling the civic.
Took the s2000 over a year ago when I was 16!

Great stories...... I drive an S because it's the most fun car I have ever driven and it puts a smile on my face everytime I do.
Fell in love with it at the 1999 San Diego Auto show. "I will own one of those someday." Ten years later and a garage to keep it in I purchased my S April of this year.
