Why do you drive an S2000?
i was into VWs before and owned a 1991 Jetta, lowered but otherwise stock. then i moved on to a 1997 Jetta, lowered, and threw a stage 2 turbo kit in it and quickly realized that it's still the same slow FWD jetta that i had before. then conveniently around that time, my uncle went out of town for a week and left me with his BMW Z4 and instantly i was hooked on getting one. at that point though the S2000 wasn't even on my radar. i never noticed them around town, never saw them in video games or magazines. fortunately, i did a fair amount of research into the roadster category and it seemed like every article i read and video i watched pointed to the S. fun, reliable, purposeful and as a bonus, not too bad on gas when driven around town. so at that point i went and took a couple for a test drive and purchased one a few weeks later.
My first car was a Euro version Honda Accord and I really liked that car for its reliability, VTEC engine, road handling. I always dreamed about someday getting an S2000, but I didn't even know how drive a manual transmission car. Then in 2006 I got assigned to Oman so I had to sell the Accord back in Hungary. Car prices in the Gulf countries are so much lower compared to Europe, that when I checked the price tag of the S2000 I did not hesitate for a second. I walked into the Honda showroom and there were two sitting right in the middle. A blue and a red. I sat in the red and then I told the sales guy to put the SOLD sign on it. Incidentally this was on my birthday on March 25, 2007, so I thought, what a nice B-day gift I managed to pick up...
The same evening I headed down to the Casa del Habano cigar shop because a Cuban cigar roller was there rolling cigars. I asked him to roll a robusto for me on the occasion of my birthday and on the occasion of just buying an S2000. This he did and I placed that cigar in my humidor. I am paying the last loan installment on the S2000 on October 2 this year, and that will be day when I will smoke the nicely aged robusto rolled for me in 2007.
I drive this car every day and enjoy every second of it.

I've been in the DSM world for the past 7 or 8 years. A 95 Eclipse, a 96 Talon, a 92 Galant VR4. I was one of the first people in my neighborhood to get into the art of forced induction. It was wonderfull up untill the past 2 or 3 years, everywhere around me it seems like everyone is getting a car simply for the fact that it was turbo and fast. Especially Evos and STI's. Dont get me wrong, i have the utmost respect for those cars. But not their drivers. Every car on the street has a turbo on it now... So much in fact that it's not unique. My urge to be different and set new standards is the reason I bought the S. I believe in the import world that NA is becoming a lost art. The S is a true sports car that isn't hyped up with turbos and every other fad that is currently on the street.
And then I actually drove one. The instant response to handling, steering, breaking, acceleration... etc is amazing. The harder i push it, the more exciting it gets. I feel like the only limitation to the car is myself....And i've only owned my S for 3 months now.

I drive mine because it lets me do this on the weekends:

I've driven a lot of cars at autocross schools. There's nothing in the same class for equivalent money. To have as much fun as an S, you have to either:
1. Spend a whole lot more money
2. Give up creature comforts on the street

My second and fomerly favortie car was an 86 Accord so I had honda running in my blood early. A few years later I worked as a valet at a honda dealership. I fell in love with the S2000 the first time I drove it. I bought my 2008 CR (no audio or ac) about a year ago and even though it is my second car I have put 21,000 miles on it. I love the presise balance between power and handling and the smile it always puts on my face when I hit vtec after a stressful day.
I just started college , saw it @ the 2000 autoshow in chicago .. and vowed i must have it
It was a treat for myself.. I didnt know anything about it except that it was a convertible and a honda...

I always loved these cars ever since i saw one for the first time.
My first opportunity to drive one was in probably 02 when i tuned a supercharged 2001, I was hooked.. my 2nd drive in one a couple years later was a turbo ~450hp 01 up in new york that i tuned. I always knew i wanted one, but after that i knew i HAD to have one.
It wasnt until last year that i finally got one. Found it for dirt cheap, sold my 2 civic projects and bought it.
When i blew it up in December it was the ONLY car i had ever owned that i actually missed driving (I have had probably 20 cars since i started driving 11 years ago)
