Windshield -rock chip

Involving insurance will only work against you. Any claim is a claim, period. The permatex kit is good stuff. There are better resins out there but the plunger contraption and curing film is as effective as the pros equipent, but slower to apply because less pressure from plastic syringe.

Had a pro do it and he did a decent job. I can still see them, but I'd rather it look like a small surface chip than a deep crack that could spider.

Anyone know if the windshield can be polished or anything? Have tons of mini chips from all the years of pebbles flying at it and pitting it out. Anyways to like sand it down or anything? Or do you just have to replace the windshield after a while? When driving into the sun light it is near impossible to see anything.

I've made two claims for chip/crack repair on my insurance with no increase in premiums whatsoever and no change in the way they treat me.

If it's just a small chip, and no real crack involved the simple thing to do is to fill it with superglue, let it cure, and come back with a razorblade and shave it smooth. Most sealants/fixes that glass shops use is nothing more. Now if it's deep, then let a pro handle it.
