Yeah, it is a big chip with a hairline crack immediately under it.. I didn't even have time to neglect it... ;( I realize it will probably require a deductible in which case it would not be worth it, correct, but you never know maybe there are some policies that cover glass without deductible...

Around here most people have full glass coverage as a normal part of their policy. My insurance company as an example will pay for any crack repair work needed, they feel it is a way to potentially avoid the bigger charge for a full window replacement. Might be something you want to look into in your area.
I know people who have had their cracks repaired (boy that sounds bad) and have been very pleased witht he results, as in no more cracks.
