Windshield tape. Why is it there?
Don't do the hair dryer trick - too easy to screw up the rubber. Leave it the sun for several hours instead.
The paint is clear coated underneath.
You're looking at about $200 - $350 to have it repainted if it needs it.
Another thing you could do if it's crap is order the part number for the tape from Honda and put it back on.

All the S2000's in the Honda UK site show a body color windshield frame - no tape.
Early UK roadsters had tape, early UK GT's didn't

Of course the District Service Mgr. told me it was to protect against paint chips. Of course he couldn't explain why black cars don't have the tape. And then if that was the reason why didn't the factory put black tape on the front bumper (much more susceptible to chips)?
I want to remove mine, but I'm afraid of the paint quality underneath. Maybe someday...
