Would anyone Trade "S" for an M3?

I know how much it costs and I never said anything about money but rather FI vs FI.
I'm pretty sure that money is what we have been talking about.

...for the difference. The S can be made faster + extra sex points over the M3.

I Love M3s. I own an s2k. Maybe I'm biased, but $ for $, the S can be a faster... much faster car.

$ for $ faster, yes. Extra sex points... Uhhhh, no. Very few people take the S2000 seriously. It's a fact. Next.

Thats an interesting assessment. I would have to disagree with you there. I dont think that the majority of people can tell the difference between a "regular" 3series and an M3. I like the looks of an M3, but most of the added appeal of the M3, at least for me, comes from my knowledge of whats under the hood, not costmetics. I think the M3 has a nice design, but I wouldn't call it sexy. But sexyiness is in the eye of the beholder, i guess.

It doesn't matter what you and I think. I believe we're talking about how the opposite sex(female) views it.

I bet if there was public poll (not on S2Ki or the M3 boards) done asking "Performance and money aside, if you had to choose a car based on ergonomics and curb appeal would you choose a 2000-2006 Honda S2000 or a 2001-2006 BMW M3?" the Bimmer would win by a long shot.

I base this on the difference in compliments I've gotten in my M versus the S.......from the opposite sex

By the way, the opposite sex isn't really on car forums.

No, BMW owners have sex more than drivers of any other car makes. Chicks just aren't impressed with hondas, they don't care if it can rev to 9000 rpms or not. To them it's just a honda=poor.

And there are always better deals for budget/speed like a turbo V8 mustang, the M3 starts off as a faster car and always will be if you add like parts to it. For the money, if you can afford an E46 M3 then it doesn't matter.

No, just stating basic social observations. Honda is known for making reliable economy cars, BMW is known for making luxury rwd cars.

Most expensive honda happens to be the S2000 or a loaded pilot at 34K, most expensive BMW happens to be the M5/6 @ nearly 3 times that price. Our family has owned a 00 turbo civic, Acura CL Type S, Acura Legend and CBR 600F4 so I have nothing against honda. But clearly, honda isn't BMW.
