Would anyone Trade "S" for an M3?

No, just stating basic social observations. Honda is known for making reliable economy cars, BMW is known for making luxury rwd cars.
Most expensive honda happens to be the S2000 or a loaded pilot at 34K, most expensive BMW happens to be the M5/6 @ nearly 3 times that price.

I recieved my S as a graduation gift out of high school... so what? Some girls like sports cars... and truthfully, If you ask a "girl" if an M3 looks like a "sports car" vs and s2000... you will always get s2000 loooks more sporty. (although, if both cars have badges on them... they will always get in the BMW
)

The only car Honda has made that is sexy is the NSX, however, it's not badged as such in the US.

I would test this... If the cars were debadged... I don't know who would win.

I'll give you this - when the Honda badges came off, I got more compliments - till I told them it was a Honda
<---to those name brand bastards and female dogs.
I had the luxury of driving my cousin's 03 M3 for a week while he was on vacation and they are fabulous cars. After driving it, however, I chose the S2000. The M3 would have been more of a status car, but I get just as many looks in my S2000 (especially with the top down in the middle of winter in Jersey) as I did with my brief stay in the M3. The M3 was much faster in a straight line, but it lost out when the road got twisty. The S2K surely lacks low-end torque but it makes up for it with superior road holding and driving feel. It comes down to personal preference. For me the car would be my daily driver and my only car and I chose the nimbleness of the S2000 over the more powerful yet more expensive M3. If you are going to choose between the two, you would have to assess your own situation and definitely drive both cars before you make the call.

I have thought about this many a times...
I was honestly thinking of buying a 95 M3 at one time. I would love an E46, bought that's out of the price range, so I wanted to go w/ the best to modify E36.
Although after talking to several M owners, several previous BMW owners that now have an S, I decided against it. I still like the M3, but as most have said, the S is the best fun for the money.

For a straight trade...I would. Then I would sell the M3 and buy S2K again. Keep the profit.

anyone that is not lacking a chromosome would do exactly the same thing...

surprised at how many of you are seduced with the brand/prestige. the car might or might not perform better, certainly not in handling. it's not as fun to drive. it's a ton less reliable and expensive to maintain. so you're essentially saying i'd trade for it because others will think im cooler or i'll feel better about myself since it costs more? am i wrong?
