and i think its the other way around. just because ASM is JDM it means they can charge stupid high prices for no reason. now some of their stuff that is wind tunnel tested; etc is def worth the price. but come on a cf intake that will net u 2 whp is worth 3500? it prob weighs the same as pswrdjdm's lol
it has nothing to do with being jdm.
we think jdm is expensive because we have Honda cars and all they do is make things out of carbon fiber and rare metals.

people who drive european cars are dealing with this same issue.
american FORD enthusiasts as well. you should check out the jeep / ford suspension catalog. it will cost half an s2000.

it's just like any wax product or racing seats out there. If alot of people are putting to the test and they constantly develop new ways to improve it, the credibility goes up. people pay more for credibility. you can think of it like this.. the more race track is sees, the higher the price gets (before the debut) - well, broadly speaking.

it wouldn't make sense to sell a production of their very own intake for pwjdm's price when asm's come with race experience. plus i think it's dry carbon (if not their intake, then most of their products are dry).. alot less change to heat, unbelievably light and stronger than the resin saturated pwjdm's intake. Yea ASM is a big name. But you should take a look at the carbon fiber in person and you will see why someone would pay however much it costs.

not as dry as asm's

either way it's the amount of resin saturated that makes the difference.

i really think this is a debate that will never end since it's a matter of personal opinion. people love to argue/talk about where their money goes.

i'm actually just running on regular aem intake

i guess this is almost like how people view art paintings.
some people think it's useless, but it puts others in a world of wonders.

Meh, look at Mugen. A bunch of their stuff you pay an extra $500 just because it's 'Mugen'. I'm not hating, they sell quality products just that it is overpriced for what it's worth.

Don't try to go down that route with a girl. My girl spends ungodly amounts on stuff like that and actually believes those products are better than the regular brands. Same goes for purses. There are like $3K+ purses out there! I'm happy carrying my stuff in a plastic bag....or in my hand.

It's not the surprising.

Women pay $3000+ for purses. Where is the technology and R&D in that?

Bottom line.... it's the name.

You're basically paying for the name. It's rather functional as well It's called JDM bling! ASM= Top notch parts.
