lightweight, strong, shines similar to normal glass, doesn't shatter like glass (however a bit flexible)

they're starting to use it more often for windows on newly built homes these days.

 

reminds me of my calc teacher..

I am actually surprised your so blown away by a price like that. Its pretty common to see people spend 8grand on wheels.... they certainly dont perform 5grand worth better than certain $3,000 sets, but people buy them all the time.

Both wheels and intakes can 1) change performance, 2) change looks (if you pop your hood). People will always buy them for both reasons, so you can expect the price to be based on just #1.

note: i wouldnt be caught dead paying that for any intake, because #2 has never been a concern of mine.
