With the CDV, whenever you shift at higher RPMs, the clutch will take much longer to let out, thus creating a lot of wear. If you don't drive the car hard, it's probably a marginal difference... but if you're shifting at redline on a regular basis, it's going to take a toll.
removing the CDV doesnt remove the possiblity of slippage, u still have to get the shifting right, it takes practice and getting used to it. giving too much gas and letting off clutch too slow will slip teh clutch also. just practice

Okay guys, let me clear up a few questions and misconceptions:
1. The belief is that the last run of 2003 S2000's DID HAVE THE CDV, so it is possible that the above poster has a CDV in his 2003 if it is a very late model.
2. The CDV will cause excessive wear, how much depends on your driving habits. If your feet-hand work is not exact, the worse it is the worse it is going to slip in the ap2. Its real easy to get back on the gas before the clutch is engaged in the ap2.
3. Billman and others have posted in the technical forum that they believe it is impossible to shift the AP2 as fast as an AP1 even with the CDV removed due to the fact the Ap2 has a heavier flywheel. This being said, if you do a clutch job definitely change out the flywheel! I went with the hardtopguy kit in mine and its awesome. No slip, just grip!
