Thanks for the post xviper I have Mobil 1 synthetic tranny fluid in there right now. Any thoughts on Mobil 1? Any tips for getting better 1-2 shifts?
I don't believe Mobil 1 makes a tranny fluid that is fully compatible with our cars. What exactly did you put in there? Find out what the bottle said ASAP!.

Shifting is a matter of trial and error. Everyone will do something that works for them.

Oh sorry. I have the Mobil 1 synthetic for the rear diff. The stuff I used for the tranny is just the regular stuff from the Honda dealership. Honda MTF I think. I spent a lot of time on here before I switched them originally and came up with those two from what I had read in the oil journals. Thinking of trying something different for the tranny this time though. Probably going to used the Mobil ! gear oil for the back again but any suggestions for the tranny fluid? I noticed quite a few people mention GM synchromesh friction modified:

Info:
GM partno. 88900399
Syncromesh FM (for NV1500 trannies)
Semi-synthetic base

I was thinking of giving this one a try. Any comments?

yes, the GM stuff works well. Make sure it is the friction modified.

a chevy parts rep will very likely say it doesn't exist. stick to your story and specify the FM part.

Any ideas on how long it last? (ie when will I need to change it again?)
