Wow, to R&R the gears and cost of that rear case... muy $$$ fix. No?

Next time I pull my fill bolt I am going to have to take a very close look. I think its ok - but I did feel something I did not like last time I snugged it up. It is snug though. So, maybe its ok. Another thing to keep me up at night.

Nah, All you gotta do is pop the shaft assemblies out and the rear housing unbolts from the rest of the carrier.

Crowfoot wrench on your torque wrench will properly torque the differential fill bolt.

Random point, I just did this with a crowsfoot wrench and it worked great. I also replaced the fill bolt with another OEM magnetized drain bolt, so now it has dual magnets. I just never understood why they'd make each bolt a different wrench/socket size. More of an ease of use thing.

I just replaced the rear diff fluid (2001 Berlina Black 26K miles). used 23 mm combo wrench to remove the fill bolt, then used 15/16 6pt socket with 3/8 drive torque wrench to torque to 33 Lb Ft. be sure to use 6pt 15/16 socket not 12 pt. 12 pt socket might round. if you have 23mm low profile 3/8 drive socket, it will work also.
