Post Adjusting clutch engagement height

Hi,

Yes, I did use the search function and found many threads on how to adjust the clutch pedal, including:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70192

However, I just want to make sure, cause it was not very clearly described.... If I understand correctly, to change the engagement height I need to adjust the length of the pushrod going to the master cylinder. And to do that I would first release the locknut...... but, my question is, then how do I actually get that pushrod to move? Do I turn it directly using pliers? Or is there some nut that I'm not seeing? All I see is the rod go into a box-ish bracket, but I don't really see any adjustment nut or anything I can get to easily.

So, is it okay to just use pliers and turn the pushrod directly? And I won't damage anything by turning the pushrod right? I want to adjust to make the clutch engage earlier. Right now it engages at almost the top of the pedal travel, which makes it hard to launch the car.

Thanks for your help!

Dean

The key is zero free play on the rod without engaging the piston. Bleed the system first with the slave cylinder unbolted from the Trans. This is the best way to ensure all of the air will be out. Get someone to monitor the master cylinder before it will empty itself out.
