Default air pump

what's up guys!! i just installed my AEM short ram until i can afford to get a better one..and what i have noticed is that when i had my stock intake box installed, the air pump kicks in twice..it would turn on for maybe 10secs then turn off for 5, then turn on for another 10secs then after that its off permanently until i stop driving the car...after installing the intake it would only kick in for 10secs then turn off and never come back on..is this had to do with the intake? i kinda wanted to try and install the stock back on just to see but im kinda lazy doing that..but maybe i will if i dont get much response to this...thanks

Normal, unless you get a CEL

Also for hot weather like Texas, I would get a CAI

i dont have CEL at all..but why the sudden change of just one click (on) with the pump instead of 10secs on and 10secs off? i would get CAI but the weather is changing..we are actually getting cooler breeze and better temp now..and plus i work over night so i rarely drive the car during the day when its really hot out..but as long as its acting up normally then i guess i dont have nothing to worry about..it just threw me off that the air pump only turned on once then off permanently after 10secs of being on with an intake..weird

I wouldn't worry about it unless you get a CEL. It's an emissions only device used to initially heat up the cat, it won't affect your performance at all.

Don't worry about it.
