Default Another "noise" question

Sorry for bothering you guys with another noise question.

The noise started out as a high frequency ticking sound. It only occured when accelerating hard at 4-5000 rpm.

It gradually changed into an ringing sound. Almost like the sound of a cricket. High frequency. I occurs at about 3000 rpm and up throug the rpm range when accelerating. It does not occur during deceleration or at a constant speed.

At about 4500 rpm there are "bursts" of sounds that can be described as ripping a sheet of paper. They only last for a half second but will occur multiple times before hitting v-tec. After hitting v-tec the engine is so loud i cannot hear any noises.

Anyway, I took my car to the dealer were i bought it, to have them check it out. I still have a warranty on the car. I took the service manager out for a drive and let him hear the noise. He told me they would look at it. So i left the car at the service department for a day. When i picked it up they told me this sound was normal, and was made by the clutch...

The problem is i don't really trust their statement.

BTW the car has 49k miles on it and it is an MY01.

Hope someone can give me some inputs on this. Thanks.

Take your car to HONDA. They would give you the most accurate answer.

Well i took the car to HONDA and they came up with the answer: "this is normal, it's the clutch that makes the sound".

So if it's normal i guess some other people in here would have experienced the same.

I don't realy trust the guys at Honda. I think they're not willing to spend time on fixing a car that is under a warranty.
