Default Anyone familiar with CEL Code

Anyone familiar with CEL code p1457, I've heard this may be related to cold weather but I'm here in Texas and the cel came on when it was about 80 degrees out. I know this is related to the fuel canister and purge solenoid. I seem to be smelling gasoline as well when i get under the car and pulled everything to get to the black box where the canister is. Anyone know the cost of replacing these things or have a better understanding of where to start. I just transferred title and have to inspect my car sometime in the next two weeks.

Its an 01

Sounds like a charcoal EVAC canister problem or some parts tied to it. Check out link (not Zelda).

This is a good read. Do bother to read the whole thing. Near the end you'll see where I start to chime in with a lot of the same questions you have.

I think it's worth doing the "suck/blow" diagnostics billman suggests, but everyone I talked to, including me, found a resolve by replacing the evap canister and the (ccv)" canister closed valve" that is attached to the canister.

It's definitely not your gas cap.

Good luck with it.

These are the part numbers to the items you listed correct?
17011-S2A-A01
17310-S2A-A03
Those parts aren't cheap either

Yeah those are it.

It's worth getting under there and checking all of the hoses, solenoids, etc. it could be a really cheap fix.
