Default Anyone use a hi flow cat?

My s2000 came fitted with a test pipe, and though I love the performance... the smell is getting to me.

I was thinking of putting a stock cat on there, but wanted to look at other options.

I've heard good things about Metal Cats and Random Tech Cats.

Is this a popular switch out? I have some guys that'll install a Magna Flow cat for me. But as far as everyone's experience at s2ki with this car and the cat, how much of a difference would there be brand to brand?

Not sure many use them because the oem cat flows better than most. Rash sells a cat that might be worth trying:

the OEM S2000 cat is 'hi-flow'.. in fact, it flows better than many aftermarket 'hi-flow' cats. Certainly there are some that will flow better, but I wouldn't waste my money for such a minute gain..

Well, Since I don't have the stock cat I was opting for a high flow.

I guess I should just get Honda's OEM cat.

Check with Ultimate Racing. They have a high flow cat that's less restrictive than the stock one.

I'm more concerned about getting a cat that works, I have a test pipe in and am not digging the smell.

Check on your local forum and post in the WTB as well...I've seen many folks running TPs just giving their cats away for free or for just shipping cost.

Random Tech's is great.

It is the only one I am sure outflows the stock cat. They used my cat as the benchmark since the stocker flowed almost as well as their 3" cat they worked and worked to increase the flow and finally had to go to 4" to get enough extra flow that they felt comfortable saying they had a high flow cat.
