ap1 ap2 oil cap
correct me if im wrong but from other post a long time ago. i read that ap1 burned a little more oil than ap2.
now the real question i just was wonder after buying some oil for an oil change and couldnt find my 10w30 as recommend on my 06 s2000 oil cap.
could someone with an ap1 check your oil cap and tell me if it says 5w30 or 10w30 ??
since 5w would burn more than the 10w
even tho it seems like its not much in difference. but it is..
proof
at work.. 2007 toyota camry 4 cylinder uses 0w20 or 5w20 .. due to a tighter tolerance
well at 15000 miles someone in shop put 10w30 oil in it.. 5k later at 20000 miles he comes in for another oil change plus he says it it runs kinda slow.. i did some research and found out at 15k some1 put the wrong oil weight as i said before.. just before he leaves.. i also found out that he was even slower when it was in the morning when it was cold..
i know that alot of hondas are going to 0w-20 as well. the civics the only one i know now
but as you can see. running the non recommend oil = no good

it's 10 w 30 for us too
i am very surprise you can't find 10w30, that's like more common than coke in the world of automotive oil.
switching to 5w30 will not affect much to be honest, the visocity will be lower during start up(cold) or winter, but once it's in operation range, it's all the same.
for the peace of mind, just look for 10w30.
