So basically, you take the 4.77 geared diff to a shop, have them drill out the holes and retread them. How long would a job like this take..

Thanks again for your help s2kpuddydad..

A machine shop will charge you by the hour maybe $60 to $100 to have it done.
What's funny is I have a new 4.77 with AP2 flange on it sitting in stock

Changing out the flange is not so bad, you just need to take your time. If you were near by I would do it for free for you
When you replace it you want to have a little resistance to it when turning the flange, it should not turn free.
A good transmission shop with a experienced mechanic can change it out.

Now back to the shop with me.........

Thanks for all the replies, the buyer decided not go to through with the deal. But this is good to know for future references.

Thanks again

I hope you did not loose your sale due to this glitch It may seem a bit over whelming but, it is not so bad to do.

Yea everything seemed as it was going in place but when I found out he had an ap2, I do remember reading that there was a piece that needed to be swapped. So I let him know and kinda knew I might be losing the sale but I rather be fair and honest than just hide the fact that this needs to be completed.

Ive been looking for some rims so will see If a trade comes into play in the future.

But I'm patient, its just lying in my garage so there is no hurry..

The swap is not that bad. His installer can swap it for him from his OEM diff.

He was going to do the swap himself, so I guess he didnt want to bear the extra cost of having to take it somewhere to swap out that piece.
