Got it, TB is one thing I've never touched on one of these so I'll pull it off and give it a clean next time I have a garage and tools free.

Will keep this updated, I hate when people post threads and then dont say one way or another if it worked. It'll be awhile until I can do it however.

Anecdotally, I did about 1200 miles this weekend in fast moving highway traffic. 600 one way, 600 the other straight through. Topped off the oil on my way out and checking it today I haven't burned a drop. I just have this suspicion its got something to do with the stop and go traffic I normally sit in. Normal or otherwise.

Grasping at straws.

Some of our cars are approaching 20 years old and even the newest cars are at 10. If the PCV is not functioning properly it can cause excessive oil use.

Yeah you can clean it but the PCV is cheap ($25) and dirt simple to replace with a new OEM part.

When I cleaned it about 3 months ago it was clearly gummed up, but maybe it would be a good call to order a new one just to see.

Can you elaborate? I'm not familiar with 'holes in the venturi' as it pertains to the Throttle Body.
