Replacing the window regulator will NOT fix the problem.

You need to re-teach the window ECU .
All you need to do is fully cycle the drivers window up and down a few times. Do this by pressing and holding the button until the window goes all the way down, pull and hold the button until the window goes all the way up...repeat it a few times. Then the ECU is re-taught, auto down should work.
You can't teach something that's broken.

There's a TSB on this. You for one should know this. I believe it has something to do with shitty solder joints on the regulator module. They come loose from opening and closing the door a numerous amount of times.

That's why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Thats cool, Its really not that big of a deal but I figured if it wasn't too difficult to fix, it might be worth it.

Try re-setting using this method.

1. Start the car and leave it idle.
2. Hold the window button down all the way, until the window is completely down.
3. Let go and push it down again and hold the window button for 2 to 3 seconds then let go. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.). Wait for 10 seconds.
4. Pull up on the window button and roll the window up until it is all the way up, when it is up let go.
5. Pull the button up again for 2 to 3 seconds. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.). Wait for 10 seconds again before moving window/top down.

Thanks to our friends at Superhonda.com for this.
