Bedford Autodrome...
hi guys!
Went on a trackday on Saturday with some buddies and ended up having a great time.
In the morning, a friend and i went out to do a sighting lap of the full GT circuit (4 miles long) and the car ran/ handled faultlessly. As the pace got faster (and after the sighting laps) i managed to control a few slides (looked pretty cool according to my friend who was following!).
Anyway, after a few laps to warm the tyres through, i started to push into the corners and find the limit of grip on the exits. This was great fun until i was running with another S2000 (1999 Silverstone) and coming out of the left-hander at the start of the back straight - and i span?!?!?
Power is fine going into the corner up to 8.5k - brake hard - steer sharply left for the apex - then, if i held a constant throttle for ~2 seconds at about 5k, and applied the power gradually on the exit. Lovely.

Check your oil. I would guess the lack of a baffled oil pan is letting a slightly low oil level slosh all the oil to one side when you're cornering hard, preventing VTEC from kicking in. Heavy duty track drivers get aftermarket oil pans to prevent this from happening.
I had the exact same problem. I noticed it first on the banked section of the track and then it began on the flatter infield sections. Turned out to be gas - not enough of it.
I was less than a quarter of a tank tho.

Never heard of this happening on a left hander, but on tight right handers it is common to suck oil into the PCV valve. When I've done this, I've noticed a loss of power (accompanied by a "muddied" engine/exhaust sound), as well as a nice trail of smoke behind me. That's considered "normal", and I believe the problem can be resolved by adding a oil catch can.
