Will the shop own their diagnosis? What happens when you replace the rack and the problem isn't solved?

The rack moved as in the rack bushings that attach the rack to the subframe? Because as far as I'm aware EPS doesn't turn on it's own. Or is this something to do with the torque sensor? Loose coupler maybe? That's the only thing I can think of.

They offered to fix it and do whatever they need to do for $2200. I rather figure it out myself because steering racks aren't too expensive, it's just time consuming. If it isn't solved my guess would be to get another diagnostic. They said they couldn't really further diagnose it because the rack is moving, and things are hard to tell beyond that. The rest of the car was checked for tightness for bolts, control arms etc etc etc.

I honestly don't know I would have to ask my friend for more details. I replaced the EPS module and it didn't do anything. So my next guess would be to put on the spacer and realign see if that helps. If not I guess on to the next steering rack? I'll check the Torque sensor sometime this weekend. Ugh this has been going on for far too long. I'm almost tempted to buy a CR steering rack, or a manufactured one.

Have you checked if the coupler is on correctly? The joint under the boot, that's honestly the only thing I can think of, if everything is solidly bolted down(the rack to the subframe)

I haven't had the chance yet, I will check and get back to you soon.

I still haven't had the chance yet to check the steering rack, I was going to try again to put the front bumpsteer spacer kit and realign it to see if it would make a difference. I emailed RRT and this is their response:

"So with the electric steering setup in the car, the only two real components are the rack and the control module to the rack. While looking over the car, the rack would move as in it didn't want to keep centered on its own. To be quite honest I don't know if it is the rack or the control module. From experience I am leaning towards the rack, but I cannot be 100% sure. That being said, I do believe there is a tool out there that could test that system more in depth, but we do not have one. I don't know if you have any contacts at a Honda dealership or someone else that may have access to that system. Further testing might reveal more details."

I'm debating on taking it to a honda dealer for their HDS diagnostic.

Update!: I checked the joints under the boot with a pry bar. It seems to have no play. But I recently got my alignment done and while I was there I was using a scanner tool to check out the EPS. The EPS showed a code: DTC: 3 LOW FET(Motor drive transistor)stuck ON. Now I don't know if that's because I've changed steering racks or even the EPS module but I cleared it. So far the car is acting good over bumps, I even took it out to AUTOX with no issues. I'm going to scan it again sometime soon to see if the code came back before I take it to the track.

We'll see fingers crossed.

Thank you, you've been a great help. I just seriously hope this is the end of this nightmare. If not then I guess new steering rack lol.
