Default Car seems to be boging

I am trying to get an idea of what is going on. My 01 seems to have a power loss problem, I had thought it was that I needed an oil change. I changed the oil, from Mobil 1 to Amsoil and the car felt great for 2-3 days but now it seems to be losing even more power, less responsive as well. I installed a k&n intake a about a month ago but I don't think its heat bog, even though it feels like it. The car has only 40k on it and is driven very kindly, could I need a valve adjustment??? The power loss is most noticeable when I am plodding along in a high gear and give it gas but I can feel it under WOT as well, the throttle response is just not what it should be. It hasn't been too warm lately (in the 50's) but it has been humid. Any ideas?

Sounds like you are imaging things. Oil changes don't 'wake up' a car, period. Nor do engines need valve adjustments for 'poddling' along. Unless it is throwing a CEL I wouldn't worry.

Oil will not wake up your car, but I have often noticed the difference after an oil change, especially with high grade synthetics. There is no CEL so I am not hugely worried about it.

I've always felt a difference after an oil change, regardless if it was synthetic or not.

I assume that their's no CEL's right? I'd check spark plugs, compression, valve lash ect.

No CEL just checked my plugs not too long ago and they were fine. I hope its not a compression issue haha.
